Silent movie star’s Isotta-Fraschini wins Swiss concours

This ex-Rudolf Valentino 1927 Isotta-Fraschini Tipo 8AS Roadster came out on top at the recent Lugano Elegance concours (17-20 May) in Switzerland.

The Best of Show winner is chassis 1175 was commissioned by the silent movie star and was first shown at the 1926 New York Auto Salon.

In more recent times it has taken class awards at Pebble Beach and won Best of Show at the inaugural Audrain Concours d’Elegance in 2019 when owned by  Judge Joseph and Margie Cassini who had researched and restored the car. It was acquired by the Audrain Collections of Newport, Rhode Island a year later.

This car has so many outstanding and striking features.  While an American design, it feels like an Italian speedboat, fast, flowing, and elegant.  It is truly a work of automotive art that reflects the personality of the man who commissioned it.’
